It took 9 years together, 4 studio albums, 2 ep’s, 300 concerts on 5 continents, 3 years as official jazz ambassadeurs of Denmark and numerous awards, 1000’s of days spent in the rehearsal room, several inner revolutions that took the band from progressive jazz to art rock through pop, electronic, punk, and back again to finally arrive as JK5 – a mesmerizing experience of equal thunder and clear blue sky.
When JazzKamikaze formed in early 2005 it was with an unmistakable mission of becoming the World number 1 in jazz. The band quickly found themselves winning prizes and recognition internationally based on their jazz records and energetic live concerts. Within two years of the formation they were headlining festivals around the globe.
With a unique blend of talents JazzKamikaze soon set higher goals as they embarked on a high-risk journey with the creation and release of Supersonic Revolutions in 2010. The album saw them introducing vocals and songwriting of a kind that carved out a new path between rock and jazz.
Now, in 2013, the 5 members of the original JazzKamikaze introduce their 5th recording, a small collection of 5 songs that marks the birth of JK5. And this is only the beginning.
